Dr. Tunde Ogunsakin, AIG (Rtd.) is a distinguished retired Assistant Inspector General of Police with extensive wealth of experience in criminal investigation, fraud investigation and comprehensive police operations. His recent honorary doctorate degree further recognizes his outstanding contributions to law enforcement and national security.
He is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First Security Information Limited, Nigeria. FSI is a foremost Security Company in Nigeria specializing in Strategic Security of Assets, Events and Personnel, setting industry standards under his experienced leadership.
Dr. Ogunsakin holds impressive academic credentials including his recently awarded Honorary Doctorate Degree from Tansian University, Anambra state. He attended Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State, where he graduated in 1980 with B.A(Hons) in Law. He also earned a Diploma in Diplomacy/Conflict Management from the University of Jos and an LLB Degree in Law from University of Abuja.
Throughout his career, he has undergone several trainings, seminars, workshops and conferences locally and internationally in line with global best practice for policing, investigations and general security management. Dr. Ogunsakin served as chairman and member of various government panels in Nigeria and has headed several commissions and Police formations across the country.
His expertise in anti-corruption and financial crimes was demonstrated through his role as Head of Investigation at the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Abuja, and as Director of Operations at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abuja.
Dr. Ogunsakin held numerous senior police positions including Commissioner of Police as Force Computer Officer in Abuja, Commissioner of Police at the Special Fraud Unit, and Commissioner of Police in Rivers State. He also served as Assistant Inspector-General of Police in the Department of Training, demonstrating his commitment to developing future law enforcement professionals.
He commanded Zone 6 as Assistant Inspector-General of Police, which comprises Akwa-Ibom, Cross Rivers and Ebonyi States, showcasing his ability to manage complex multi-state security operations effectively.
Dr. Ogunsakin was the primary police officer at the forefront of tackling insurgency in the North East Region of Nigeria, demonstrating exceptional leadership and strategic thinking during one of the nation's most challenging security periods.
Until his retirement from the Nigeria Police Force, Dr. Ogunsakin served as the Assistant Inspector-General in charge of Zone 12 Police Command, which comprises Bauchi, Borno and Yobe States, completing a distinguished career spanning decades of dedicated service.
Dr. Ogunsakin is a prolific writer and thought leader in law enforcement. He has several publications to his credit, including "Police Investigation in a Democratic Society" and "Reviews of Tax Regime in Nigeria," contributing valuable insights to both academic and professional communities.
